
MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif- Health officials have announced the first human case of West Nile Virus in Monterey County since 2009.
According to the health department the person was exposed to the virus while they were traveling out of the state. The individual was hospitalized for treatment of virus-related symptoms and is now recovering at home, said health officials.
