PASADENA, Calif. - The Mars Curiosity Rover will get the chance to scoop up some Martian sand this weekend.
The rover already dirtied its wheels around the sandy material to loosen it up, as well as the dry soil.
Starting tomorrow, the rover will use some of it's instruments to determine what the sand is made of, so scientists can once again check off a "first" on the red planet.
The NASA team has also created a video explaining what the soil can uncover.
