SANTA MARIA, Calif. - In a surprising move, one of the students accused of sexually assaulting a fellow student has entered a "no contest" plea in court on Tuesday.
The teen's name is not being released because he is a juvenile. Another student, 18-year-old Shane Villalpando has also been charged with sexual assault.
The case is one of two alleged assault cases that caused two administrators of the high school, including the principal, to be charged with not reporting the sexual assault to authorities.
Joseph Myers and Former Dean John Walker were both found guilty last week, which makes their job future uncertain. Both of them will return to Santa Maria court to be sentenced on October 30th. Both men face a maximum penalty of six months in County Jail and a $1,000 fine and a minimum probation punishment.
