SAN LUIS OBISPO, October 10, 2012 – San Luis Obispo County residents can rest assured knowing that a local hospital continues to rank among the nation's Top 50 hospitals for cardiac care.
On Monday, Oct. 1, French Hospital Medical Center (FHMC) was been named as one of the 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals® in the country for the fourth consecutive year. FHMC belongs to the Dignity Health network of hospitals which also includes Arroyo Grande Community Hospital in Arroyo Grande and Marian Regional Medical Center in Santa Maria.
The Truven Health 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals for 2013 were announced on Oct. 1. Formerly the health care business at Thomson Reuters, Truven ranks heart programs based on analysis of quality, safety and care as well as treatment of a broad spectrum of cardiology patients. Selected from more than 1,000 U.S. hospitals, FHMC landed on the 14th annual list because it continues to provide top-notch care and set new standards for the health care industry.
"French Hospital has had a longtime commitment to a heart healthy community," said FHMC President/CEO Alan Iftiniuk. "The fact that we've received the award for five years in a row, shows how dedicated we are to continually enhancing our cardiac care programs and services. But the award wouldn't be possible without the continued donor support that allows us to persistently update and boost the delivery of cardiac care through ongoing education, implementation of new technologies, and analysis of the systems that shorten times to treatment."
The 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospitals® is an annual, quantitative study by an independent, objective source, that identifies the nation's best providers of cardiovascular service.
The Copeland, Forbes, and Rossi Cardiac Care Center at FHMC provides the latest innovative cardiac and imaging technology on the Central Coast. It offers a multitude of cardiac services including cardiac rehabilitation, comprehensive diagnostics and imaging, interventional radiology, cardiac MRI, and more.
