San Francisco Giants Win To Even Up NL Divisional Series

CINCINNATI, OH – The San Francisco Giants beat the Cincinnati Reds 8-3 in Game 4 of the National League Divisional Series to even up the best-of-five series at two games apiece.

After collecting only five hits in the previous two games, the Giants offense finally got on track by pounding out 11 hits, three of those home runs, including a leadoff home run in the top of the first by Angel Pagan. San Francisco knocked out Reds starter Mike Leake in the 5th inning. Leake, who started the game as a replacement for injured Cincinnati ace Johnny Cueto, gave up 5 runs on 6 hits.

Pablo Sandoval led the Giants offense with three hits, including a two-run home run in the 7th inning. Sandoval finished the game with three runs batted in.

With the victory, the Giants force a fifth and deciding game with Cincinnati on Thursday. Through the first four games of the series, the road team has won every game.
