SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, Calif.- San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Deputies need your help in finding a registered sex offender. The family of 37-year-old Matthew James Booker says Booker allegedly molested dozens of children including his nieces and nephews.
The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Department is offering a $500 reward to anyone with information regarding criminal activity of Booker.
"He has a prior offense for lewd acts with a child under the age 14, he has prior history with law enforcement officials in the fact that he has tried to flee before," says Tony Cipolla, San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office.
San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Deputies say Booker used to live in the 5000 block of Shadow Canyon Road in Templeton and failed to register as a sex offender and appear in court on a warrant. Booker's uncle, who did not want to release his name, says money won't make up for what he's done to his family.
"He's my nephew, he really screwed the family up I mean you know, playing around with his nephews and nieces. There's been more than one thing happen and as far as I'm concerned he's a predator," says Booker's uncle.
He also says Booker used to work for their family-owned business, Arbor Tree Surgery in Paso Robles and says he hasn't talked to Booker in 15 years.
"His mom just nurtured him and protected him and lied for him. There's been more than one thing happen and as far as I'm concerned he's a predator," says Booker's uncle.
Sources tell Central Coast News they've seen Booker hanging around at a welding shop on Paso Robles Street.
