Allegiant Prepares for Non-Stop Flights From Santa Maria to Hawaii

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Allegiant Airlines is preparing to offer non-stop flights from Santa Maria to Hawaii. They are testing out bigger planes on the runway next week.

Allegiant will be test flying a Boeing 757 jet for the popular flight from Santa Maria to Vegas next Friday night. Officials say the test run is to make sure the new, extended runway is suitable for flights.

The plane is nearly twice the size of the current jet that flies from Santa Maria to Vegas. Allegiant plans to offer non-stop flights to Hawaii starting next month.
