Number Two Reactor at Diablo Canyon Shuts Down

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - The number two nuclear power reactor shut down this afternoon after an electrical disturbance.

At around 12:08pm, the number two reactor suffered an electrical disturbance that triggered an automatic shutdown response as electricity was being moved to the grid.

The number one reactor, remains operational. Plant operators are on scene investigating. No word yet when the second reactor will be back online.
