ISLA VISTA, Calif.- One day after a man was spotted with a rifle near UCSB, gunshots were heard in the same area Sunday morning.
At about 1:00am deputies were called out to the 6500 block of Sabado Tarde Road. According to police, an argument broke out then the suspect pulled out a handgun towards an apartment building and fired one shot. Regardless of the recent crimes, some students say this won't stop them from going out.
"Even if I know something happened I'm still going to go out at night, I mean it's in the back of my mind, but I'm going to ignore it," says Zihal Li, a UCSB student.
No one was injured. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 19-22 years old, 5'6", 150-170 lbs, wearing an "Oakland Raiders" hat, blue jeans, and a grey UCSB sweatshirt with blue writing outlined in yellow.
