SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Authorities have located the 61-year-old woman with dementia who was reported missing late Monday afternoon.

Santa Barbara Police Officers immediately responded to the beach after hearing that 61-year-old Nancy Riordan was reported missing.  Police asked Search and Rescue teams to help because the woman was wearing a Project Lifesaver Transmitting Device.

About a dozen search and rescue team members arrived to help.  They requested the assistance of a County Air Support helicopter.  At around 5:45 p.m., the crew of the helicopter spotted Riordan walking along the western edge of Mora Mesa.  They airlifted Riordan to the Santa Barbara Airport, then deputies drove her to her home.
