Brush Fires Cause Traffic Delays on Highway 101

NEAR GAVIOTA, Calif.- Four spot fires near Gaviota caused some delays on Highway 101 Tuesday.

The brush fires were located on the center divider about two miles south of Mariposa Reina near Vista Del Mar School. Santa Barbara County Fire responded just before 4:30 Tuesday evening and were able to put out the fires in less than an hour.

It caused both sides of the freeway to be shut down and caused quite the traffic build-up. The cause of the fires is still under investigation.
