Santa Maria Officials Seeking Public Help in Finding New Police Chief

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - After a year of violence has rocked the community, Santa Maria city officials are asking for your input in what you want for a new chief of police.

The city will host two open community forums this month.  The first meeting will be held next Monday, October 22nd in the City Hall Council Chambers on 110 East Cook Street at 6:30 p.m..  The second forum will be held in Spanish the following day, Tuesday October 23rd at the Veterans' Memorial Community Center on 313 West Tunnel Street on 6:30 p.m.

vIf you can't make it to the community forums, but would still like to voice your opinion, you can also respond to an online survey on the City's website www.ci.santa-maria.ca.us.

Santa Maria is accepting applications for the new Chief of Police through 5:00 p.m. through Wednesday, November 14th.
