Morro Bay High School Back Open After Receiving Threats of a Student Bringing Gun to School

MORRO BAY, Calif.- Morro Bay High School was on lock down for about a half hour Wednesday afternoon after the school received a call that a student was reportedly bringing a gun to school.

Morro Bay High School tells Central Coast News the school was locked down from 1:30pm-2:00pm.

According to the high school, no gun ever made it on campus. Morro Bay Police says they were able to locate the juvenile away from campus and says he was not armed.

At that time, High School officials lifted the lock down. High School officials and Morro Bay Police are continuing to investigate so that all appropriate measures are taken to ensure the ongoing safety of the campus and community. No further details are available, and there are no criminal charges pending at this time.
