Top 3 Priorities if Elected:
• Maintain Vital Services and Add to Capital Improvement Program________
• Restore Trust in City's Accounting of Measure Y Revenues
• Upgrade City's wastewater plant to meet water quality standards at reasonable cost
How do you plan to implement these priorities:
We will continue to adopt a 2-year Financial Plan as we have in 2009-11, and 2011-13, that balances revenues and costs, incorporates the citizens' goals for the future, and adds to the City's capital investments.
We will improve our outreach to the community in accounting for every dime of Measure Y revenues. We will assemble a leadership team of individuals from business, the environmental community, youth sports, seniors, educators, and organized labor to provide a forum for this outreach, and present a "best case" and several options for the renewal of Measure Y (which expires in April, 2015.
We will continue to work with the Regional Water Quality Control Board, Dept of Fish and Wildlife, EPA, and other regulatory agencies to establish reasonable water quality standards for the City's wastewater discharge.
