PASO ROBLES, Calif. – Firefighters in Paso Robles responded to a commercial fire at 2235 Spring Street on Monday morning.
Officials say the fire was caused by an overloaded exterior duplex electric outlet between the two buildings.
At 9:35am, the Paso Robles Fire Department received a call from dispatch reporting a fire located between two buildings. Firefighters, including two companies, arrived on scene within three minutes and were able to extinguish the fire before it entered both buildings. The fire was extinguished within ten minutes and no injuries were reported.
A woman was trapped by the fire, but was able to escape the blaze with the assistance of bystanders and was evaluated by paramedics on scene. Transients appeared to have been living in the space where the fire occurred.
Responding to the emergency was a total of eleven members of the Paso Robles Department of Emergency Services and CalFire/SLO County Fire Department. The Paso Robles Police Department assisted in traffic control at the site as well.
