Amy Christey
MORRO BAY, Calif- The city has announced it has a new police chief. Amy Christey will be taking over the reins of the department on November 13th.
Christey was one of 66 applicants for the City's Chief of Police position. She comes to Morro Bay with over 20 years of experience with the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Department, currently holding the position of Lieutenant.
She holds a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice Management from Union Institute & University and is currently attending Monterey College of Law in pursuit of her Juris Doctorate.
Nearing the conclusion of this long selection process, City Manager Andrea Lueker stated "I am extremely impressed with Amy's credentials and believe that we have chosen the very best candidate for our new Chief of Police."
