SAN FRANCISCO, Calif- If Wednesday night's game was supposed to be all about the pitchers, who would have predicted one of those pitchers would not be Justin Verlander of the Detroit Tigers.
Game one was dominated by pitchers Barry Zito and Tim Lincecum, both of the San Francisco Giants. Zito hit an RBI off of Verlander, who was pulled from the game in the 4th inning. Lincecum came in for Zito and retired seven Tigers in a row.
The night also belonged to Pablo Sandoval who hit three home runs and had a base hit.
The Giants took home game 1 with a final score of 8 to 3.
