CA Law Gives Employees 2 Hours Off to Vote on Election Day

Posted: Updated:

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - California state law says all employees get two hours off to vote to make sure all Californians can vote on election day, November 6.

If you do not have enough time to vote before or after work, you need to notify your employer two working days in advance. Every California employer is required to post a notice at least ten days before November 6, letting employees know of these rights.

Polling places are open from 7a.m. to 8p.m. on Election Day for the 2012 Presidential election.
