Woman Who Hit Bicyclists is Sentenced for 4 Months in Jail

LOS OLIVIOS, Calif. -- A Los Olivios woman who hit and injured two bicyclists will spend four years and four months in jail.

Authorities told Central Coast News that 32-year-old Alicia Gilbert drove her SUV into a group of 8 bicyclists. She hit two of them on March 15th on Foxen Canyon road in Los Olivos.

Gilbert pleaded no contest last month to felony driving under the influence causing injury. Police say one of the victims had fractures to her arm and leg. The other man is awake but still unresponsive from a coma.

Officers say at the time Gilbert's 8 month old baby was allegedly in the car when the accident happened. The baby was not injured.
