SANTA MARIA, Calif. - A national Halloween chain says the sales of President Obama and Mitt Romney masks are already calling the race.
The Spirit Halloween store chain says more people are buying President Obama Costumes. Although they say it's not exactly scientific, they say it normally has called the election in the past.
The Halloween City store on Broadway Street and McCoy Lane in Santa Maria also says more people are choosing the President.
"Mostly Obama," said Daniel Valadez, who works at the register at the store. "A lot of the masks come by, we have a lot of microphones that go by. So it looks like those have been more of the purchases."
The Santa Maria store says they've already had to order an additional shipment of the masks because they've been so popular.
This year's election has also inspired some other costume choices. After the debates, more people are choosing Big Bird as their costume choice. Some internet sites are even showing how to dress up as a binder full of women.
The Spirit Halloween store chain says its purchases have been right on the money every election year since 1996.
