SURF BEACH, Calif. - Surf Beach is now open to the public after officials closed it down, following Tuesday's fatal shark attack.
Vandenberg officials opened the beach at 8 a.m. on Friday morning. They had closed all beaches on the Vandenberg coastline for investigation after the fatal attack that killed 39-year-old surfer, Francisco Solorio Jr.
After their investigation, Santa Barbara Sheriffs Deputies determined that the shark was a 15-16 foot Great White.
