HAWAII- The first of possibly several tsunami waves, originating from a 7.7 magnitude earthquake off the coast of western Canada, have hit the Hawaii island.
According to Fox News, wave heights have been measured at three to six feet.
No known damage has been reported at this time but officials say waves to come could be much larger in size.
The National Weather Service says there are reports of water receding in bays, including Hilo Bay on the Big Island.
Tsunami alerts were issued after the U.S.G.S. reported a 7.7-magnitude earthquake hit in the Queen Charlotte Islands area Saturday night.
