LOMPOC, Calif.-Dozens of people came out to Jalama Beach Sunday to pay their respects to the man who was attacked and killed by a shark last week.

Surfers paddled out in remembrance of Francisco Javier Solorio Junior. Solario was attacked and killed by a Great White Shark while he was surfing last Tuesday at Surf Beach. Surf boards, pictures and flowers were placed in the sand Sunday as a celebration of Solario's life.

Solario's nephew, Marc Anthony-Vargas says his uncle was "very free spirited, everytime I saw him he was always up to something, made everybody laugh.. he had his daughter and always loved her and put a lot of time with her."

Solario leaves behind his wife and young daughter.
