PG&E Sends More than 150 Electrical Personnel to Help with Superstorm Sandy

AVILA BEACH, Calif. - Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) officials have announced they are sending more than 150 employees to New York to help restore power in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy.

Crews from all over the company's Northern and Central California service area will fly out of Sacramento within the next couple of days.

Many utility companies in the storm's path are asking for extra assistance.  PG&E is part of the network of U.S. utilities that call on one another to help assist natural disasters. 

The company crews are headed to assist New York City and Westchester County.  They will send maintenance and construction crews, electrical first responders, and damage assessment personnel.  They were also send logistics support and field safety personnel.
