SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Santa Maria Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly shot a man in his home early Thursday morning.
According to Police, at about 3:31am, Santa Maria Police Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of E. Park Street to a report of a shooting that just occurred inside of a residence. Upon arrival, Officers found a Santa Maria man inside the home who had sustained a gunshot wound to his upper torso. The victim was transported to the Marian Medical Center; however, he was ultimately airlifted to Cottage Hospital for further treatment. It appears his injury is non-life threatening.
Further investigation revealed that an adult male suspect, wearing dark clothing and a mask, forced his way into the home and fired multiple shots. After the victim was struck by the gunfire, the suspect fled the scene.
