San Luis Obispo Man Arrested For Assault with A Deadly Weapon

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif.- A San Luis Obispo man was arrested after police say he stabbed his neighbor's mother in the hand.

Police say it happened just before 2:00am Sunday at the Madonna Road Apartments in the 1500 block of Madonna Road.

According to police, the suspect, Milton Flores, 30, and Jose Raul Garcia Jr., 27, had gotten into a verbal argument. At the end of the dispute, Flores assaulted Garcia with a knife. Police say Garcia's mother, Maria Tafolla, 45, tried to intervene and Flores stabbed her in her hand.

Tafolla was transported to the hospital and treated for her injuries receiving several stitches. Neither Flores nor Garcia were injured.

Flores has been booked in San Luis Obispo County Jail with bail set at $25,000.
