SANTA BARBARA, Calif- A teenager who drove his car 200 feet down a cliff was rescued with the help of his iPhone.
Friday night, the 17-year-old teenager drove his car down the side of Gibralter Road. The teen was injured in the accident and was only able to walk a few feet from the car. He spent the night at scene of the crash.
Saturday morning, the teen's father was able to find him after using the GPS tracking device on his son's iPhone. He called 911 and emergency crews came out to the area of 2900 Gibralter Road.
The teen was stabilized but had to be flown out to the Cottage Trauma Center. His condition at this time is unknown, but crews said that he was complaining of neck and back pain, and was probably dehydrated.
CHP is still investigating the cause of the accident.
