New Retaining Wall On Cuesta Grade Completed

Posted: Updated:

SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY – Construction has been completed to build a new retaining wall along the southbound land Highway 101 on the Cuesta Grade. The new wall will provide greater stability to that particular section of the highway.

The $3.3 million project, which was completed by Condon Johnson and Associates of Oakland, California, forced a six month lane closure of the far right southbound lane from north of the grade to north of Ryan's Gate. For other traffic updates in the District 5 area (San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Monterey, San Benito and Santa Cruz Counties), motorists can call (805) 549-3318 or visit the Caltrans District 5 website.
