Santa Barbara Tire Slashing's Hit 18 Vehicles

SANTA BARBARA - On November 11, 2012 beginning at 7:08 a.m., the Santa Barbara Police Department investigated tire slash vandalism to 18 vehicles parked on 700 Western Avenue, 1500 San Andreas Street, and 800 W. Micheltorena Street.

The vehicles belonged to sixteen different victims.

Investigation indicates that the crimes likely occurred between 12:45 a.m. and 4:15 a.m. on the morning of November 11, 2012.

Seven vehicles were vandalized on 700 Western Avenue, seven vehicles were vandalized on 1500 San Andreas Street, and four vehicles were vandalized on 800 W. Micheltorena Street.

The vehicles were parked in driveways or on the street and some had multiple tires slashed. At this time the investigation is continuing; no arrests have been made.

To deter future vandalism the community is advised to be vigilant and to report suspicious activity immediately to the Santa Barbara Police Department.
