SANTA MARIA, Calif. - A multiple car crash in Santa Maria sent five people to the hospital on Tuesday night.

The two-truck crash happened at 7:45 p.m. at the intersection of Miller Street and Enos Drive, causing the closure of the northbound lanes of Miller Street.

For an unknown reason, one truck did not stop at the red light and while crossing the intersection smashed into the second truck sending it into the block wall on the side of the street.

The driver of the truck that smashed into the wall had to be extracted with the jaws of life, and paramedics took him to Marian Regional Medical Center with major injuries.

The driver and 4 passengers in the truck that ran the red light were taken to the hospital, all with minor injuries.
