CAMBRIA, Calif- The fourth fire within 7 years happened at the Cambria Pines Lodge. Cambria Fire said the number of fires at the lodge is unusual, given that they happened so close together.
Friday afternoon an employee of Cambria Pines Lodge called Cambria Fire saying a shed on the property was ablaze. The building has been unoccupied for a while, it was once a pool house.
The employee who made the call said they believed the fire started because of an electrical shortage. "It's under investigation, I don't know whether that is the cause, the fire conditions seemed a little intense for that to be the cause," said Cambria Fire Chief Mark Miller.
24 fire fighters were on scene from Cambria, Cayucos and Cal Fire. They were able to keep the fire from spreading. The cause is still unknown and the investigation is ongoing. Employees of the lodge were being interviewed.
