SANTA CRUZ, Calif- A very interesting trip for some 7-11 store customers in Santa Cruz, Monday night, after police say a transient man flipped out on employees after stealing coffee.

According to Santa Cruz Police, shortly before 7:30 p.m. Kenneth Imel entered the convenience store on the 300 block of Ocean Street and began to drink cup after cup of coffee without paying for so.

When Imel approached the counter to only pay for one cup of coffee, the manager refused and that's when things got hairy.

Witnesses say Imel then began to 'flip out' throwing displays on the main counter to the floor, throwing items that were in close reach at the 7-11 manager and even striking a fellow customer waiting in line.

That customer would not have it and stepped up to the plate, detaining Imel by holding him to the ground until officers arrived to make the arrest.

Kenneth Imel was arrested and charged with battery and public intoxication.
