CENTRAL COAST, Calif. -- 147 million bargain hunters are expected to be out this Black Friday and small businesses are finding creative ways to fight for your dollar.
Shoppers are already camping out of Best Buy days before Black Friday. Major retailers like Walmart and Target are expected to bring in billions as economists predict a 4.1% increase in revenue this year.
So how can small businesses stack up?
Co-owner of CarMa Boutique Carrie Curiel says its by offering unique, individually hand-made products like her flower pens and hair clips.
And it's not just the unique products they're pushing this Black Friday. Small business are also offering special deals to compete.
CarMa Boutique will instead be open Thanksgiving morning offering huge discounts and giving away totes with every purchase. They will close on Black Friday but are open on Small Business Saturday.
And for some customers, it's working.
"You go to the big store you have to wait for the big line and this is more comfortable to come here," says customer Zully Crawford.
CarMa boutique is also offering up to half off just to bring in customers.
While jewelry store, Deasee's Designs is offering a dollar credit for every dollar spent but it still has to open during normal business hours.
"People don't have to feel rushed," says Deasee's Designs Manager Meghan RomRodt. "They can come in here at a reasonable time and all the deals will still be here waiting for them."
Those small businesses are also participating in local events to get their names out in the community and pull in loyal local shoppers for the Holiday season.
