Teen Girl Allegedly Sexually Abused by Stepfather

SALINAS, Calif. - Salinas Police have arrested 35-year-old Jose Luna Jr., on child molestation charges involving his stepdaughter. 

Officers responded to a call of sexual abuse, reported by the victim's parent. The investigation revealed, the 17-year-old victim and her stepfather (Jose Luna Jr.) have had an unreported sexual relationship since she was 14.

According to SPD, the girl's mother walked into the victim's bedroom and found the two in what appeared to be an compromising abusive situation. Luna immediately jumped out the bedroom window.

The victim's mother, who was previously unaware of the relationship, called police. The victim admitted the relationship started since she was 14 and officers were able to establish there have been several incidents of sexual abuse during this time period. Officers were able to make phone contact with suspect Luna and developed information on his location. Luna was contacted and arrested without incident.

Jose Luna Jr. was later transported to county jail where he was booked on multiple counts of child molestation.
