Woman Rescued in Drifting Boat Off of the Coast of Santa Barbara

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Santa Barbara County Fire Department responded to a distress vessel call, about a mile off shore near Bulito Canyon Beach, off of Hollister Ranch.

The initial call came in around 10:55am Wednesday morning. One woman was on board of an inflatable boat that had drifted out and her engine wouldn't start.

The air rescue unit, lowered a firefighter down into the boat. The fire fighter was able to start the motor and the two returned to shore with jet ski escorts.

No one was injured.
