Santa Maria Man Arrested for Alleged Strong Arm Robbery

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - A Santa Maria man is now behind bars after allegedly robbing a wallet and trying to run away with it.

Police say it happened on the 1500 block of South Broadway Street shortly after 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. They say 44 year old Anthony Hayley took a man's wallet and then fled on a bicycle. Police then found him a few blocks away and gave the man back his wallet.

Police arrested Hayley for strong armed robbery and for violation of parole and booked him in Santa Barbara County Jail.
