SANTA MARIA, Calif.- Black Friday is well underway and some would agree, it's just not worth the stress, waiting in long lines, standing outside in the cold waiting for the stores to open. There is one brave shopper who says it's all worth it!
Romeo Martinez spent last week camping out at Best Buy and Friday morning he was out in full force. Central Coast News asked Martinez what could possibly be worth waiting in line for 10 days?
"There's TVs going for $179.99 40 inches and there's also 50 inch TVs for $400," responds Martinez.
Martinez is just one of hundreds of brave shoppers who swarmed into the store to get their hands on the best deals and from the crowd there were only a handful of rookies.
"I've heard it can be really trampling, you go to be really careful in there because when you get in there they just bombard you," says shopper, Christi Hamack.
While many shoppers hope to avoid ugly confrontations, many stores have beefed up security.
"As you've noticed we have barricades, we have security, we only let a certain amount of people in at a time and then we wait for other people to get out before we let other people in," says Best Buy manager, Andy Cortez.
Andy Cortez says the barricades are new this year and these new precautions they're using have already helped eliminate the rowdiness.
