Santa Barbara County Sheriff Gets Grant To Fight DUI Drivers

Posted: Updated:
SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. - The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office has received $130,000 for the "Avoid the 12" DUI Task Force.

It's a group of 12 agencies across the county that are fighting drivers who drive under the influence.

The grant will be used across the county, targeting people who drive after using drugs or drinking.

That means we'll be seeing more check points, especially during holiday periods.

A large part of the funding will pay for those checkpoints.

The grant was funded by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
