Trial for CHP Officer Accused of Driving Under the Influence Heading to Trial

Posted: Updated:

SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY, Calif. - The California Highway Patrol officer accused of driving under the influence in Arroyo Grande could be going to trail at the start of the New Year.

Michael Mallory is accused of crashing into two parked cars while off-duty back in August in Arroyo Grande.

He showed signs of being impaired while at the scene, and blood tests came back positive for Ambien, a sleeping sedative.

Mallory and his attorney attempted to reach a deal with the District Attorney's office, but declined any offers.

He will be back in court December 27, and the trial is set to start in January.
