SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - The Santa Barbara County District Attorney's office has confirmed that David Attias, was released on October 18th into an unlocked outpatient treatment program at a confidential location as was ordered by Judge Tom Adams.
The former UC Santa Barbara student was convicted in 2001 on four counts of murder for driving his car into a crowded Isla Vista street. The same jury also declared that he was legally insane.
Attias was 19 when he first entered the hospital. He is now 30 years old
