OAKLAND, Calif. - Oakland Police are searching for a missing teen, 16 year old Shyanne White of Santa Maria.  White, who was staying at the Fred Finch Youth Center, a residential treatment center in Oakland is developmentally disabled.

According to the Center, White walked away from the facility Tuesday night.  She was being trailed by counselors as she headed towards a BART train station nearby.  As she entered the station, the counselors were detained by BART police and were unable to continue to follow her.

She was last seen, with a group of boys/young men.  Currently Oakland Police are searching for White and have no known location where she could be.

Her father says although Shyanne is 16 years old, she functions at first or second grade level.  A spokesperson at the treatment center says White has been with them for approximately 6 months and this is the first time she's walked away.

White is described as: 5'4"  150 Pounds  Brown hair and Brown eyes.  She was last seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt with pink stripes, pink T-shirt and blue yoga pants.

If anyone has any information on White's whereabouts, Police are encouraging them to dial 911 immediately.
