Missing At-Risk Teen Found in San Francisco

Posted: Updated:

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Oakland Police tell Central Coast News that 16-year-old Shyanne White, who suffers from Autism, has been located in San Francisco.

It is not known who spotted the teen or when she was spotted.  Shyanne's father, Jesse White, says that he found out that she was located around 10pm from law enforcement.

White says that although Shyanne is now safe, police told him that she was beaten and raped.  It is unknown if the suspects have been identified.  White says Shyanne was transported to Highland Hospital and is in stable condition.

Shyanne was reported missing Tuesday night after she walked away from the Fred Finch Youth Center, a treatment center in Oakland for mentally disabled teens. The former Santa Maria High School Special Education student transferred to the Finch Center after having behavioral issues.

Staff at the Center followed her to the BART station, where they last saw her with a group of six young men.  Finch Center officials say they were working closely with the family and other agencies to find Shyanne.

Anyone with more information is urged to contact the Oakland Police Department.
