GROVER BEACH, Calif.-Armed and dangerous and on the run, that's what Grover Beach Police are saying about William Forgey, 44. Forgey is accused of shooting his estranged wife and then vanishing.
Police say it happened on the 800 block of Mentone Avenue at about 9:00 Saturday night. Forgey is suspected of shooting his wife, running away, and then shooting at a neighbor, but missed. Neighbors say they are surprised something like this could happen in their quiet neighborhood.
"It was a boom boom boom and then there was probably 30 seconds in between then there was another loud boom," said Rick Anderson, who described the shots fired.
Anderson said the people inside the home were,"really quiet people, I've never met them, but I've seen them and there's never been any problems from the house at all."
As of Sunday evening, Forgey's wife is being treated at Sierra Vista Hospital for serious injuries. Police say Forgey is armed and dangerous and anyone with information regarding this case should call the Grover Beach Police Department at (805) 473-4511.
