Memorial Held for Victim of Nipomo Hit and Run

Posted: Updated:

NIPOMO, Calif - A memorial was held on Monday for 23 year old Christopher Tietjen, who lost his life after he was hit and killed by a car in Nipomo.

Family and friends gathered at Calvary Church in Nipomo, saying their final goodbyes to their family member and friend, who died just a few weeks ago.

Tietjen was taking a walk in Nipomo when he was struck on North Thompson Avenue sometime after dusk on November 11th and prior to 11:30am on November 12th.

Meantime, the woman who police say hit Tietjen was in court last week.  23-year-old Marie Coyner is being charged with involuntary manslaughter and a hit and run with an enhancement of great bodily injury.  Coyner's attorney says she feels remorseful for what happened.
