MORGAN HILL, Calif. -- Santa Clara County Sheriffs Deputies arrested two suspects for false imprisonment, kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon, criminal threats and conspiracy.
Officers said 36-year old Jason Dejesus and 33-year old Chanelle Troedson were arrested at a gas station on Santa Teresa Blvd and Cottle Road. Deputies said a 50-year old handyman from San Jose was kidnapped and assaulted by the two suspects.
It happened Monday night around 6:15 p.m. at the 200 block of Caldwell Court near Morgan Hill. Officers said the suspects claimed the victim provided handyman services to one of their relatives two months ago. The victim told police said suspects's relative only paid the handyman a portion for his work.
Deputies said just before 11:00 a.m. the suspects lured the victim into a home on Caldwell Court. Officers said the suspects called in the handyman to do repair work. When the victim arrived deputies said the suspects held the man up against the wall and assaulted him and threatened to kill him for several hours. Officers said the suspects also forced the man to do repair work in the home.
Several hours later the suspects forced the victim into a truck. Police said one of the suspects was driving the victims truck, and the other was driving their own truck. They were on their way to one of the suspect's relative's homes to complete handywork from a few months prior.
While on the way, officers said the suspects stopped at a gas station and told the victim to wait in the car while they went inside to pay for gas and food.
Police say the victim snuck out of the car and ran to a nearby home to report what happened. Santa Clara County Sheriffs Deputies arrested 36-year old Jason Dejesus and 33-year old Chanelle Troedson both of Morgan Hill.
