OAKLAND, Calif. - Tuesday Oakland Police announced the arrest of Gary Atkinson, a suspect in the kidnapping and sexual assault of 16 year old Santa Maria teen.
According to Police, on the evening of November 27, 2012, an at-risk juvenile, a Santa Maria 16 year old girl, walked away from a group home located on Coolidge Avenue.
She was followed by staff to the area of International Boulevard and 34th Avenue (plaza/BART area) where they lost sight of her.
On Sunday, December 2, 2012 at about 9:00 PM, Oakland Police Officers arrested suspect Gary Atkinson in connection with the kidnapping and sexual assault of the victim.
