GROVER BEACH, Calif. - A standoff is happening right now in Grover Beach, as authorities try to arrest a man they say is armed and dangerous.

Authorities are looking for 44 year old William Forgey, who is accused of shooting his estranged wife over the weekend and vanishing.  Multiple law enforcement agencies, including Grover Beach Police, Arroyo Grande Police, and California Highway Patrol are assisting in the standoff.

Investigators were able to locate Forgey around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday night, as he was driving in his car from Sacramento to Grover Beach. At this point, authorities have not found the weapon he used from this weekend and have not made any contact with the suspect.

Police are at the house where the initial shooting happened on the 800 block of Mentone Avene.  Nearby streets have been blocked off and neighbors have been asked to stay indoors.  A reverse 911 was issued in the area.

"At this point, we have established perimeter around the resident, a secured area, and we're in the process of setting up tactical team and SWAT team to try and make contact with him so we can negotiate him to talk him out of the house so that nobody gets hurt." said Police Chief Jim Copsey of the Grover Beach Police Department.
