SLO County Step Mom Gets Jail Time in Manslaughter Case

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif - A woman who prosecutors say shot and killed her stepson has been sentenced to one year behind bars and will serve five years probation.

56-year-old Gina Mayborn took a plea last month after shooting 49 year old Joseph King Cochran to death in California Valley this past July.

Mayborn says she shot Cochran in self defense when her husband was fighting with him. However, Mayborn will only serve 65 more days because of credit for time already served.
