CHP Searching For Driver Who Hit a Bicyclist Then Drove Off

AVILA BEACH, Calif.- The search is on for the driver who hit a bicyclist Thursday night in Avila Beach.

The California Highway Patrol was called to Palisades Road and Avila Beach Drive at about 7:00. Officers found the injured bicyclist with his German Shepherd, by his side. The man was taken to Arroyo Grande Hospital, no word on his injuries.

The suspect's car is a silver BMW that's missing its passenger side rear-view mirror. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
