
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. -- Police have arrested 4 suspects, 2 are still at large. Police said the victim who was shot in the back is partially paralyzed in his right leg.
20-year old Tyler Garrett Silveira of San Luis Obispo, 18-year old Gannan Rene del Fierro of San Luis Obispo were arrested on November 7th.
18-year old Nicholas Joseph Lopez of San Luis Obispo was arrested on November 8th and 19-year old Jeffrey Mana Sigxaydene of Fresno was arrested on December 6th.
Police are still looking for 18-year old Mitchell Soundara and 19-year old Benjamin Adam Ma of Fresno for an outstanding warrants.
San Luis Obispo police said on November 7th around midnight a man was found with a gunshot wound to his back. They found the man screaming near Santa Rosa Park.
The victim was taken to Sierra Vista Hospital for injuries. Doctors were not able to remove the bullet because it was lodged between two vertebras and was too close to his spinal cord. Police said the victim is partially paralyzed in his right leg.
The San Luis Obispo Police Department began said the suspects involved developed a conspiracy to steal money from the victim who was trying to buy marijuana. Officers said when the suspects confronted the victim, he started to run away and that's when they shot at him.
Police were able to identify some of the suspects the next day. On December 6th detectives served multiple search warrants in Fresno County to arrest the other suspects they believe were involved. San Luis Obispo police worked with the Fresno County SWAT team, Fresno Police SWAT Clovis SWAT, Hanford Police and Visalia Police. Those search warrants were served at the 6000 block of East Olive, 3000 block of North Brawley and 4000 block of West Dakota Avenue in Fresno.
Police said multiple weapons were recovered. Officers do not know if any of the weapons found were used during the incident at Santa Rosa Park. Several hundred pounds of marijuana were also seized by the Fresno County Sheriff's Department.
